PDP condemns shutting of Abuja rally venue | The Guardian Nigeria Newspaper - Nigeria and World News


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned the directive by the Buhari Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government to shut the venue for its Presidential campaign rally in Abuja billed for today, as an act of desperation. Just as the Peoples Democratic Movement, (PDM), yesterday in Abuja, announced the adoption of the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as its candidate for the February 16 presidential election. He warned, “Let me caution the federal government and let me also caution the military, the military are not supposed to get involve in elections, only the police are supposed to keep law and order. I have heard, the military head command threatening people, threatening politicians, please I want to caution the federal government and the military, you have no functions whatsoever in our electoral process so be guided. Late former Chief of General Staff (Supreme Headquarters), General Shehu Yar’Adua, founded the PDM, one of the precursor associations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
